Happy New Year to Gardeners Everywhere

The last month of the old year is always a busy one but members of the Garden Club got a jump on the Christmas party scene in Chester when they enjoyed a festive pot-luck gathering in early December. The party, hosted by Anne Macdonald, chair of the program committee, was very well attended. In addition to providing the sumptuous spread of food and wine, members contributed a large number of items for delivery to the Chester food bank.

This year's party included spouses and friends as guests of the CGC members although, as occasionally occurs at parties, it sometimes appeared as though the men and the women were at different events.

Photographer Sandy snapped this shot of several men in serious debate (or could they be caroling?) and a number of other shots showing women engrossed in completely different conversations.

Of course, the food table brought everyone together. The club has not scheduled any activities for January but members will be advised in good time as to the dates and the designated site of the 2009 monthly meetings.
